How many world's number one have been going down the drain over the last few years? Kodak, Nokia, AOL, Karstadt ... and many more to come. 

The German economy is largely based on improvements in efficiency, able to implement incremental innovations. But what about the next big thing? That is invented or at least commercialised elsewhere. Why?

To us it is mainly about a lacking environment for Inspiration, Courage, and the readiness to take Risks. Across the board there appears to be an inherited resistance to change.

But organisations become successful whenever they sparkle of ideas. Ideas fuel innovation and only creative companies will enlarge their life span. However we are afraid to say, the best ideas are not born top down. In fact, they are mostly killed on their way bottom up. If a good idea does not find a champion then many worriers will bury it six feet under.

If with ideas we cannot rely on the survival of the fittest, then we need a start-up climate for them to come up, we need to toss and turn them and we may need a matchmaker between the best ideas and the right champion.
